So, what happens to all those dresses you bought through the summer season? They remain in your wardrobe… of course? I must admit, I feel this post is actually just a self justification process for all the dresses I bought early September when the weather was most obviously turning, however my psychological “I’ll get wear out of this” shopping mantra took over once again. No surprise there really.
Chunky knits, and more to the above, over dresses are what’s been dressing me through these hot-to-cold-to-raining-to-heatwave past few months. It’s been a rollercoaster to say the least, and I’m still unsure what the f I’m meant to wear day to day. However I feel this strategic dress code may leave you feeling like you’ve won the transitional dressing battle and a little more smug when leaving the house for the day, knowing you got this – just remember an umbrella.
For comfort, I went with trainers. I’ve been wearing so many shoes lately I forgot all about these Nike Mayfly Wovens (circa 2013) and I can confirm they are like walking on clouds. I also wanted to deviate away from a white tennis trainer and well, the navy kindly matched my jumper so we were all winners here.
The jumper was a dedication to my Sister who simply hates roll necks. But seriously, this chunky cable knit dream is from the Topshop SS18 Runway to Retail collection, fresh out of London Fashion Week. Definitely one of my favourite pieces from the show – sorry Sis!
And finally the aforementioned dress. This was a huge huge bargin buy from Zara at just £17.99 (!!) and I’ve had so many compliments on it in a previous post, it just had to make another appearance this year. You may however, want to invest in a slip to go underneath as it is a little bit see through. I have a feeling this may be correlated to the price.
And this is how I’ll be for the foreseeable – in a dress and jumper combo, with the odd check blazer thrown in for good measure!
